Tactic Plan: a portable tactical editor to plan and manage GIGN operations.

An elite unit for immediate response in major crisis situations

Formed in 1974, the National Gendarmerie Intervention Group (GIGN) is the most emblematic unit of the French National Gendarmerie for interventions and more globally for management of major crisis situations, requiring engagement of specifically trained and equipped men who employ special means and techniques.

The need for a digital tool to draw and share tactical situations

The elaboration of the Tactic Plan® tactical editor originated from the absence of digital software to prepare and lead emergency missions. The need was to leverage field-proven mission preparation methods (e.g. use of colored symbols to represent protagonists on printed plans) but get rid of associated limitations, such as the inability to
share visual situation details with someone offsite or to archive tactical schemes.
